CHILDREN’S ORTHO-K IS A FOCUS OF OUR CARE

Experienced with growing eyes.
Patient with little questions.

Our doctors focus on children’s Ortho-K and myopia control, with a warm, step-by-step approach. We explain what comes next, teach lens handling and care, and involve parents so the routine feels more familiar at home.

From the first fitting to follow-up visits, our aim is to make the process smooth and comfortable for your child. Tell us about any worries or discomfort so we can help your family through the next step.

The Medmont + WAVE difference

Our WAVE Platinum Certified approach pairs Medmont corneal topography with custom WAVE lens designs. We focus on designing around each eye’s map, with flexibility beyond preset fitting sets, then refine the fit toward clearer daytime vision.

A plan for that changing prescription

If your child needs stronger glasses year after year, ask about myopia control. We recommend considering Ortho-K when the examination and your family’s routine support it. The appeal is practical: overnight correction, fewer daytime lens tasks and a treatment plan that addresses progression.

Is my child ready?

Readiness is about more than a birthday. We look at eye health, prescription, corneal shape and the ability to follow a careful routine. Parents often take an active role in handling and cleaning lenses.

  • Bring current glasses and previous prescriptions if available.
  • Tell us about allergies, eye rubbing, discomfort and past contact lens use.
  • Consider who will supervise the evening and morning routine.
  • Plan for fitting visits and ongoing checks.

What school mornings can look like

Remove lenses as taught, clean and store them, and head into the day. Vision can fluctuate during adaptation, so the office will discuss backup correction and when daytime vision is adequate for school and activities.

Progress is measured over time

Clear vision today and slower myopia progression are separate goals. Keep the prescribed follow-up schedule even when your child sees well. The care plan may need adjustments as your child grows.
