WHAT IS ORTHO-K?

Clear vision.
Nothing in the eye.

Ortho-K is overnight vision correction with custom rigid lenses. While you sleep, the lenses temporarily reshape the corneal surface to change how light focuses.

Take them out in the morning. The goal is clear vision through work, school and sports without glasses or daytime contacts.

MEDMONT PRECISION. WAVE CUSTOM DESIGN.

Your eyes aren’t preset.
Your lens design shouldn’t be either.

Eye D VisionWAVE Platinum Certified

Top 10% of Ortho-K providers nationwide

We focus on WAVE lenses because they give us control over the design. We use Medmont topographers to map your corneas, then custom-build the lens design around each eye instead of relying on a preset fitting set.

That flexibility lets us refine the fit in pursuit of clearer, more comfortable daytime vision. Your measurements and follow-up response guide the adjustments.

Medmont describes its E300 topographer as having a gold-standard reputation for specialty contact lens fitting. That design flexibility helps us tailor care to your eyes.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

What will it be like for me?

How do I get started, and is the first exam covered?

Start by booking a routine eye exam at your preferred office. The exam is generally covered by your applicable vision insurance benefits, or you can pay out of pocket. We’ll assess your eyes, discuss your goals and explain your Ortho-K plan. Ortho-K treatment itself is not covered by insurance, but you can use FSA or HSA funds toward it.

How soon can I see clearly, and what do I wear while adapting?

You may notice clearer vision as early as the morning after your first night in Ortho-K lenses, depending on your prescription. Typically, vision settles over one to two weeks of consistent wear. We check your progress and help arrange temporary correction for school, work or other activities while your eyes adjust.

Will the lenses hurt?

Ortho-K lenses should not hurt. At first, you may notice a sensation of something in your eye. As your eyes get accustomed to the lenses, that awareness usually fades, and many patients hardly notice them anymore. We regularly help children ages 5 and up learn the routine with patient, step-by-step guidance. If you do experience pain, remove the lenses and contact us so we can check the fit and your eyes.

How much does it cost?

Eye D Vision’s first-year Ortho-K program is $1,850–$2,200, with $750 annual renewal that includes an updated set of lenses and doctor visits for the year. Your office will explain the quote, inclusions and program terms.

What if I cannot get comfortable or the vision is not good enough?

You have a team to help you through the process. We assess your comfort, vision and lens fit, then discuss refinements where needed. Our custom WAVE approach gives us flexibility to adjust the design. If another option suits your eyes better, we’ll explain it and help you plan your next step.

What if a lens is lost or damaged?

We can help arrange a replacement for $300 per lens. Contact your office for timing and guidance on backup correction while you wait. Keep a damaged lens out of your eye.
