Your prescription is the starting point
Ortho-K may be an option for children and adults with nearsightedness and some astigmatism. Suitability depends on the lens design and your measurements. An in-person examination lets us give you a personalized recommendation.
What we evaluate
The consultation looks at both the eyes and the person who will care for the lenses.
- Current prescription and prescription history.
- Corneal shape measured with topography.
- Eye surface health and any irritation or allergies.
- Sleep routine and ability to follow cleaning instructions.
- Family support and availability for follow-up visits.
When another approach may be better
Active eye problems, a corneal condition, poor tolerance or difficulty maintaining safe hygiene may make overnight lenses inappropriate. The doctor can explain alternatives and whether a problem needs treatment before fitting.
Bring your questions
Tell us what you hope to change: a child’s progressing prescription, daytime contacts during sports or interest in a nonsurgical option. Bring your glasses and any available prescription records.
